The monthly price follows from the number of users and the pages of the case files you upload in a month.
All amounts exclude VAT; processing is rounded to the cent. Each page is charged once, on upload. Case files already in AS Legal incur no processing in the following months.
Pricing questions
Can we pass the costs on to our clients?
Yes, if you agree this with the client: in Germany in a fee agreement under § 3a RVG, in Austria in the fee agreement under § 16(1) RAO. On request we invoice processing per case file, so you can assign each invoice to a matter and recharge it.
Can we book only user licences, or only pages?
No, you always book both. The licence covers working with AS Legal; processing makes your documents searchable for it.
What counts as a page?
Every page of a processed document. PDFs count page by page; Word files are converted to PDF and counted the same way. An email (MSG, EML), a text or HTML file and an image each count as one page.
Do we pay twice if we upload a file again?
No. AS Legal recognises identical files by their content (SHA-256 checksum) and does not process them again. The check runs per user account.
Do questions and answers cost extra?
No. Questions and answers are included in the user licence, without limits. You pay for the pages of a file once, on upload.
What if a document cannot be processed?
Then its pages do not count. If processing fails, AS Legal removes the pages from the count again.
How do we keep track of costs?
AS Legal shows the processed pages and the processing cost for each case file. On request we set a page quota per user; once it is reached, AS Legal accepts no further documents.
Are there bundles or volume discounts?
No. Every user costs €112.50 a month and every page a one-off 1.7 cents, whatever the size of your firm.
Are prices net of VAT?
Yes. All prices exclude statutory VAT.
How is billing handled, and what is the contract term?
Billing period, term and notice periods are set out in your quote. We share them in advance on request.
